Minimum Requirements

Please note that the Sun Peaks Freestyle Club has a minimum requirement for our athletes as this is a competitive program. This program is to develop the athletes' Park skills to prepare for competitions in Slopestyle and Big Air. Children must be very comfortable on a board and getting on and off chairlifts independently. Know how to carve heel and toe edge, be comfortable with surface turns, basic box rails and small to medium jumps. If your child is not at that ability yet there are other sports school programs that are available through the resort. We are happy to help you navigate this.

Programs and Fees (Snowboard)

This season will be a good one. We are proud to say we have 3 members that were selected for the BC Snowboard Team for this upcoming season!! The camaraderie between the athletes helping each other out as they grow in the support and develop is so great to see. We can’t wait to see what all the young athletes accomplish throughout the season this year.

Please see this years programming options below-

FRIDAYS-HP (High Performance) Crew (9am-3pm)

Designated for athletes that are working in the Competitive stream at a Provinicial level and higher (National Level and beyond). Age 12+

This is as the name says high performance training and focus. Placement in these groups is determined first by age. After assessment by the coach the athlete may be moved into a more appropriate group (up or down). This will be determined by the coach not just on their skill level, but by their behavior, emotional maturity and resilience. The SPFC uses the Long term athletic development model (LTAD) as well as a safe and progressional coaching approach to guide the athletes into the future sport of competitive snowboarding.

SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS-HP/COMP CREW-For the seasoned freestyle athlete that has already been in competitions and ready to push harder in the competitive space. We encourage these athletes to attend a minimum of 1 Provincial series contest for the season and highly recommend attending all 3 Provincial contests. Coach invite for National events. Age 9+

SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS (9am-3pm)

Fundamentals/DEV Crew - For athletes that are either wanting to develop their freestyle fundamentals or are developing into the competitive space.
